Pro-Choice. Anti-Death Penalty.
How can it be that political liberals rally and march for the choice to terminate human life (via aboriton) under the guise of “women’s rights,” all the while campaigning against capital punishment i.e. the death penalty?
It is hypocritical and discrediting for someone to say that they value human life and that we, as human beings, do not have the authority to end life (some admit that only God can do so); But that kind of authority has been exercised for more than 50,000,000 live and developing human beings in just the last 40 years.
What an interesting dilemma liberals find themselves in. Many conservatives would argue there is a difference in someone being punished for a crime they have committed versus killing a developing human being who is innocent of any legal wrongdoing and completely defenseless. (In my opinion, though I am hesitant to fully support the death penalty without needing to ask some questions and weigh the consequences, the argument from conservatives is a much better one at avoiding hypocrisy due to a reasonable explanation [consciousness; crimes worthy of the death penalty or other forms of capital punishment usually involve the conscious taking of another’s life, etc].)
I may not have needed to explain any of the above. I’m really just thinking “out loud.” But really, the title alone speaks for itself: Many liberals support the right to kill in one sense and oppose it in another. Selective. Deceitful. Hypocrisy.
